STEM & Innovation Week

STEM & Innovation Week is a hands-on week where kids explore science, technology, engineering and maths through fun experiments, building challenges and big ideas. Here's what our young innovators got up to!

STEM & Innovation Week is all about curiosity, creativity and problem-solving! From building bridges to launching rockets, learners spent the week exploring science, technology, engineering and maths — and discovering that anyone can be an inventor.

What we did

Every day was packed with experiments, building challenges and brain-teasing puzzles. Kids got to ask questions, make predictions, test their ideas and sometimes watch things go pop, fizz and zoom!

Here are some of the highlights:

  • Build It Challenge — learners designed and built bridges, towers and boats using everyday materials
  • Kitchen Science — fizzy reactions, colourful liquids and slimy surprises
  • Rocket Launch Day — kids made and launched their own air-powered rockets
  • Coding Corner — beginners learned to give instructions and make simple games
  • Invention Station — learners dreamed up gadgets to solve everyday problems

Who joined in

All our learners took part, from the youngest classes to the older ones. We were also lucky to welcome parents, carers and local scientists and engineers who came to share their work with us. They answered lots of curious questions — and the kids loved it!

What kids learned

By the end of the week, learners knew that science is everywhere and that making mistakes is part of inventing. They learned to work as a team, test their ideas and never give up — just like real scientists and engineers.

"My tower fell down three times, but then I made it taller than everyone's!"

Thank you

A big thank you to all the grown-ups who helped make STEM & Innovation Week so special — our guest scientists, parents, carers and staff. And a huge well done to our wonderful learners for their brilliant ideas and clever creations!

Want to join in next time?

If you would like to come and share your science or engineering skills with our learners, we would love to hear from you! Please get in touch to find out how you can help.
